Hani Abdullah smiling, in a white shirt and navy tie

G'day, I'm Hani.

Video editor. Professional remover of ums, ahs and the bit where someone checks if it's recording.

I've loved editing since high school. Back then it was just for fun. Now I edit for Australian businesses, including a glamping brand and an accommodation business.

Here's how it goes. You hand me hours of footage. I find the bit worth watching, cut the waffle, the dead air and the "is this thing on?", then open with a hook that earns the next three seconds. Captions for everyone watching on mute. Pacing that keeps thumbs off the skip button.

What you get: no more footage rotting in a folder, more posts going out, and clips people actually watch, share and send to a mate. You sound like you on a good day.

I edit in CapCut and DaVinci Resolve. Quick where it can be, careful where it counts, so more time goes on clean cuts and good pacing.

I like edits that don't show off. If you notice the editing, I've probably overdone it.

What working with me is like.

You'll get replies
Revolutionary stuff, I know. You won't be chasing me for an update.
Honest notes
If the first ten seconds drag, I'll tell you. Nicely, but I'll tell you.
Your voice, not mine
The edit should sound like you on a good day, not like a template.
Files that just work
Exported in the sizes each platform wants, and named so you can actually find them.

Things I won't do to your video.

  • Put a whoosh on every cut. Some cuts just want to be left alone.
  • Bury your message under effects. Flashy is a tool, not a personality.
  • Use music you don't have the rights to. A copyright strike is nobody's idea of a good arvo.
  • Pad it out. If it's done at 40 seconds, it's done.
